Newd "Wireless" Jewelry - Finally, no strings attached!

Spring/Summer 2008, Italian jewelry Newd has launched its collection of "Wireless" skin jewelry collection.

The concept to wear is similar to body piercing and tattoos without stitching your body. So you can express the same meaning without any painful ("ouch") damages. Attach it to your legs, calves, back, arms, forearms, shoulders, neck, cheekbones, stomach, or neckline, ...

How to apply "Skin Touch", protected by an international patent, is part of the special jewellery product which is attached by an adhesive film directly onto the skin. Skin Touch is a special non-toxic-anallergic-waterproof adhesive film that enables the jewels to be attached to the skin. After you have applied the jewels by pressing a few seconds onto the cleaned skin, it will resist movement and in water.

Cool concept jewelry right?

Reminds me of Madonna's minimal-clad Erotica imagery, decked with "newd" jewelry. (with the coned bra and what nots) Now we can take this image further, or not.

Now you know how to dish up that chic sexy outfit in an instant so....
BE LIBERATED!

Ciao and enjoy ya day!

Wicked Artistic Fashion Creations

I can't help but start a post on this, after coming by such wicked brilliant creations.

Artisanal collections, so Maison Martin Margiela calls them.

Here's the Elastic Jacket.
As the name says, it's entirely made up of elastic bands. Yes...

Brilliant. They even made it look somewhat a futuristic, with sharp shoulder edgings. The weaving pattern reminds you somewhat of Bottega Venetta leather weave doesn't it?

If you haven't checked out the infamous House of Martin Margiela's website you truly should.

Don't be shocked by the out-of-this-world presentation method!

Vintage Style - Designer Ossie Clark

Yes, the vintage revival storm has swept through us for awhile now, feeling it's aftermath and what's left of the trend-followers (though it is between the seasons & looks now).

Vintage is still in, and will always be.

Due to it's wonderful ability in flattering women's silhouette.
Romantic flowy chiffon (or something close for a fraction of the price), high waisted dresses, high belts and what not bold prints that hold the attention and lengthen one's form/height.

Above: 1970s, Classic silhouette as defined by Clark for Radley clothing line

But do we know who to credit this style inventor to?
Thanks to a few designers of the era. One of them Ossie Clark.

History - Ossie Clark
Raymond "Ossie" Clark, was at the forefront of England's fashion scene in the 1960s to late 70s. Most of his career, with wife & textile designer partner Celia Birtwell, he dresses the rich and fashionable.

Celia designed romantic, nature-inspired prints on textile for Ossie's tailoring, which accentuated the female form and swayed the then somewhat conservative world's imagination & attention, to dresses.

He graduated with a first class degree from the Royal College of Arts and captivated the fashion media with his graduation collection. Soon after, he got himself into the features of British Vogue.
He first began his career designing for Quorum, which featured the works of young talented designers.

I shan't go on with the history of an autobiography isn't the aim of this article but to render credit to the man and a sharing of his classic works which have defined the style of the 60s-70s era.

Delicte & complex - Simple chiffon dress endowed with a spiral of ruffles giving an illusion of layers of fabric

The ensemble embodies three of Clark's favourite design elements: a Celia Birtwell print, trousers for women, and ruffles to break a garment's surface. Prudence Glynn wrote in The Times,'This outfit exemplifies the 1969 look at its most appealing and its most subtle'.

Variety: Sharp Suits/Dresses

Hope you've enjoyed the Designers learning journey with me. Will write more as I find the time to learn & write altogether.

Designer: Gianfranco Ferre (Spring Summer 08)

I've been researching designers of late (sick of mainstream super designer houses again) and here's another very talented designer, Ferre.

The man behind the style meets practicality wear.

Love the rather sharp silhouette contrasting with flouncy pants/bottoms.
Talk about looking professional to work.

Some of my favorites for Spring Summer 2008:

My favs from past collections:

1) Amazonian meets rock chic-glam
Fall Winter 03/04

2) Style Overpower
Spring Summer 03/04

3) Modern Vintage Preppy/Coquettish
Spring Summer 06/07

4) Lavish Glamour
Fall Winter

Jewel-Box Dresses by Reem Acra

Few things are worthy of mention, and when I do see those that are (which I somehow have a penchant of getting to) I can't help talk about them.

Have a look at these spectacular dresses, hand-dyed with exquisite embellishment works.
Subtle play with sequin tones, black on black, or dramatic Deco styled details.

The height of what I sort of wanted for a men's dress shirt look.

Anyway, feast ur eyes at these. She's dressed A-list celebrities such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Angelina Jolie and the likes. Dressy, classy, flashy yet feminine and oh-so-exciting altogether.

Thanks for inspiring us.

Todd Lynn, UK S/S 08

Some wear I came upon while surfing, that I thought was great.

Designer Todd Lynn from UK.
Reminds me of something ala style of Baylene & Nicholas in Singapore.

Chanel Fall/Winter 07/08

I've always been an admirer of the Chanel style.
Classic elegance, except that you probably have to pull it off to wear it.
That's quite hard to come by these days, somehow.

Took a look at their latest releases for the season.
These are my favourites, absolutely chic yet of excellent female form
